Tip 1 - SHAVING YOUR BEARD

Shaving?? You may wonder why a beard needs to be shaved. We regularly hear men say that they grow a beard and therefore do not need to shave. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The length of your beard must be maintained regularly by shaving, trimming and cutting it. The contours of the beard also require regular maintenance and must be updated and defined every now and then.

  • Tip 3 - BEARD CUTTING

Not all beard hairs grow at the same rate. Consequently, they will not all be the same length. Some hairs take months to grow to the desired length. There may also be a few wild, longer hairs that jump out of your beard here and there. If you just let this happen, you will quickly end up with an unkempt appearance. Take a pair of beard scissors and cut your beard hairs into a nice, even beard. Cutting off the protruding hairs does not take much time and can be done during your daily grooming. Of course, cutting your entire beard evenly with scissors takes a little more time and requires a trained hand. The only way to get the hang of it is to practice.

10 Steps to Trim Your Beard

    1. Make sure your beard is clean and dry.
    2. Stand in front of a large enough mirror and make sure you have sufficient light.
    3. Place a towel or large piece of paper in front of you to catch the cut hairs.
    4. Get a stainless steel beard scissors with rounded ends so that you don't injure yourself while cutting. Make sure that the blades of the scissors are sharp enough.
    5. Comb or brush your beard with a beard comb or a beard brush so that all existing knots are removed. There is no point in starting to cut a beard that is full of tangles or knots.
    6. Then comb your beard with a beard comb , starting from the ears, straight from top to bottom, in the direction of growth. Hold the comb at a chosen distance from your skin and cut off the hairs that are on the outside of the comb.
    7. Don't cut the hair too short, you can always cut more off, but any length that's gone is gone. Take your time cutting and make sure you're relaxed.
    8. Comb through your beard again to check that it is the same length throughout.
    9. Trim the hair from the chin.
    10. Comb your whiskers straight down and trim any hairs that extend over your lip, maintaining a straight line.

A short beard will need to be trimmed more regularly than a longer one. After all, the hairs do not all grow at the same speed. This gives a short model an unkempt appearance faster than a longer model.

  • Tip 4 - USING BEARD BALM or BEARD WAX

As a final touch in the daily care of your beard, you will use a beard balm or a beard wax . These products care for the beard hairs and the underlying skin and are mainly intended to shape and style your beard. They also give a nice shine to the beard. Beard wax is a bit firmer than beard balm and is used to control and shape a wild beard. With a beard comb or a beard brush you can distribute the balm or wax nicely evenly.
