Coat racks are actually small hooks that are used to hang clothes. They are very handy because they do not take up much space while you can still hang a lot of clothes on them. The coat hooks can be made of wood, metal or plastic, for example. They can have different colours and shapes, depending on which style you like. Thanks to a coat rack, there are no more coats lying all over the hallway, sometimes even on the floor. No more umbrellas, hats or scarves that you find everywhere in the house, and when you need them, you can't find them. Everything neatly in its place, and a tidy house. Another advantage of a coat rack is that you can hang your coat on it after a rain shower so that the coat can dry properly. A wet coat that cannot dry properly will get mouldy and that is of course not the intention. You can solve all this by purchasing a decent coat rack. They are also a very handy home accessory. Some coat racks are simply functional, but there are also some that are not only functional but also particularly beautiful.

Coat racks can be divided into 3 groups:

• Wall coat rack : the wall coat rack is, as the name suggests, a coat rack that you can attach to the wall and hang your clothes on. You can use them in any room, but they are also ideal for use in small and medium-sized rooms. Wall coat racks take up little space and are still strong enough to carry coats, provided of course that the wall is strong enough to attach the coat rack to and to carry the weight of everything you are going to hang on it. It is also important that they are attached to the wall with the right material. Remember that you cannot simply move this type of coat rack and that you must therefore carefully consider in advance where you are going to hang a wall coat rack. It is also useful that some models have a shelf or a rod to put or hang additional items on.
• Standing coat rack or floor coat rack : these models are ideal if you have enough space in your home to place them, because they do take up more space than a wall coat rack. They are therefore ideal for large spaces. They are very practical because you can easily move them, and because you can hang long coats on them, for example. Sometimes a floor coat rack is also equipped with an umbrella stand, so you can also store them neatly.
• Coat hook: this is simply a single hook that you can screw to the wall, or some models can also be hung over a cupboard door or a regular door.
